# Welcoming Liu Shengsong as a New Apache Cloudberry Committer

We're thrilled to announce that Liu Shengsong (GitHub ID: @lss602726449) has joined Apache Cloudberry as our newest committer! 🎉

Liu Shengsong has consistently been one of the long-term contributors to the Cloudberry community, delivering critical code enhancements for key capabilities including `pg_upgrade`, external table, `gp_expand`, and unique index. In the recently concluded PostgreSQL 15 and 16 merge initiative, he served as a core contributor, implementing the `MERGE` command, contributing critical fixes for ORCA, and resolving numerous parallel test cases — his exceptional code quality and efficiency played a pivotal role in the project's success. His consistent engagement with the community makes him a natural fit for the committer role.

Becoming a committer recognizes both Liu Shengsong's past contributions and the community's trust in his continued involvement.
